www.iasbet.com.au – The Australian women’s cricket team, who seem to perennially live in the shadow of the men’s team (the men just recently regained their world number one ranking) have managed to notch up their first win against the Proteas women side in the women’s world cup of cricket.
BET NOW
Coming off the back of an extremely unsuccessful Protea’s tour of Australia by the Australian men’s team, the women’s team has continued to shine by maintaining their dominance of the international women’s .
Despite posting a modest total after the South African’s women’s team failed to dismiss the Australian’s – only managing to get a third of the way into the order – the Australian bowling order showed why they are held in the upmost regard on the international cricketing circuit.
The South African’s looked rather in control as they cruised to one for ninety one in the twenty fifth over but tight bowling of consistent line and length meant that the Protea’s were forced to take chances – and the built up pressure soon took it’s toll.
Middle order bowlers from Australia wore down the defensive style being played by the South African’s and wickets were the inevitable result.
Chasing just two hundred and fifty eight the Australian’s dominance in both batting and bowling soon became evident and the total never really looked in danger.
The win is the second in a row for the Aussie’s who now move to outright first top of their pool and cement their position as almost un-backable favourites to take out the World Championship. www.iasbet.com.au

www.sportingbet.com.au – Finally the sport of Australian Rules Football sees the matchup that many have been demanding for almost two years since a single kick stopped the black and white army from advancing to a premiership in 2007 and the cats went on to win the flag.
TO BET CLICK NOW
The only difference this time is that there is a piece of silverware on the line, and regardless of how small, it’s a match up not to be missed.
Collingwood and Geelong met in the preliminary finals in 2007 and despite a gallant effort from the now retired Nathan Buckley and a siren beating long range bomb from big man Anthony Rocca, the Geelong Cats advanced to the Grand Final to take out the 2007 premiership.
Last year the two teams met in a low pressure match that managed to attract upwards of sixty thousand supporters to the Melbourne Cricket Ground to see the Geelong team get beaten all around the park in every aspect of the game.
Now, with the chalkboard registering two apiece, tens of thousands of salivating fans will flock to the new look Etihad Stadium to witness a clash of epic proportions.
Hawthorn currently holds the flag and no one can argue with their dominant performance in last year’s Grand Final, but as Geelong showed – every year is a new year and every team must be at the very top of their game to even have a hope of appearing in September, let alone take out top honours.
Black and versus white blue and white – it’s a promoters dream. Sportingbet.com.au

www.iasbet.com.au -The much anticipated Wonaeamirri is going to miss the rest of the NAB challenge campaign as a result of a hamstring injury. The young Demon came down with the injury during the game against Hawthorn was saw Melbourne losing narrowly against the Hawthorns at Aurora Stadium on Saturday.

The injury is going to set Austin Wonaeamirri back at least by 3 weeks, and will only return in a month’s time. The NAB AFL Rising Star nominee will definitely be missed given the main matches that are coming up for Melbourne, the Demons also have other injuries, a corked knee suffered by captain James McDonald.
All’s not gloomy though, Russell Robertson is recovering with his rehabilitation after suffering from a snapped Achilles last year. Russell is certainly not young anymore, although still valuable as a veteran. He has got to be careful with himself and that said, the roles that he is going to play may be smaller at the detriment of the demons.
Other players that are well on their way to recovery are Ruckman Mark Jamar and Paul Wheatley, a defender. Mark is able to get back to running, and Paul has almost nursed his calf injury back to health.
Regardless, from the looks of it, the all is not lost for Melbourne, and they will certainly remain a formidable and a team to look out for during this season. www.iasbet.com.au

www.sportingbet.com.au – Bosses of Telstra dome have warned against a last minute crowd rush that amid concerns an early start time for the Richmond-Collingwood NAB Cup clash could cause a turnstile jam and hamper entry to the ground.
Stadium management is formulating a strategy to ensure an earlier than normal 7.10pm first bounce on Thursday night doesn’t cause fan frustration.

Ben Cousins’ hugely anticipated comeback and Richmond and Collingwood’s first match in Melbourne in 2009 are expected to transform a normally low-key pre-season quarter-final into a blockbuster.
A forecast top of 32C and balmy evening conditions are expected to add to the atmosphere.
Stadium officials will prepare staff for a late rush as fans pour in from work.
Telstra Dome chief executive Ian Collins predicted as many as 40,000 people would attend.
It has been several years since the Dome was plagued by ticketing issues and delays, but it will be tested by a big, mostly late-arriving, crowd.
The AFL said 5000 tickets had been sold for the game. Ticket sales four days out from a NAB Cup game are normally negligible.
Friday’s Carlton-North Melbourne game at the venue drew 24,711, while Geelong’s win against Adelaide on Saturday night was seen by just 10,320 fans.
Collins said the early signs were that a big crowd was headed for the Dome to watch two of the AFL’s powerhouse teams and Cousins’ first match in nearly 18 months. www.sportingbet.com.au

www.centrebet.com.au – THE AFL’S NAB Cup grand final has been switched to Friday, March 13 to avoid a clash with a major fundraiser for the bushfire appeal. AFL chief operating officer Gillon McLachlan said the league did not want to clash with the Victorian Bushfire Appeal concert on Saturday, March 14 and so moved the NAB Cup a day early.
The switch was made possible after Melbourne Storm agreed to move its round one clash with St George-Illawarra Dragons from the Dome back to Olympic Park.

In light of the tragic fires that have engulfed Victoria in recent weeks, Storm chief executive Brian Waldron had no hesitation in granting the request, which came from the State Government.
The benefit concert at the MCG on March 14 will be another major step and the AFL has made the decision to play the NAB Cup Grand Final on Friday night, March 13, if the game is scheduled to be played in Victoria at Telstra Dome or in South Australia at AAMI Stadium.
Every section of the community is working extremely hard to make a contribution to assist those people who have been affected by the devastating Victorian bushfires and the AFL is no exception.
This latest clash comes after officials were forced to re schedule the Richmond-Collingwood match for Thursday night to avoid a clash with the A League Grand Final.
Co operation was swift between all parties and a more than reasonable outcome has been reached so that the much needed appeal will go ahead. www.centrebet.com.au

www.sportingbet.com.au – Nick Maxwell, captain and star player for Collingwood will be missing this season’s opener and possibly more games after he failed to defend a rough conduct charge. Found guilty for engaging in rough conduct with West Coast’s Patrick McGinnity, he will have to serve a four match ban as a penalty. His appeal was thrown out by the league tribunal.
BET NOW
This means that his already bad record is made worse, and he will miss the rest of the NAB Cup, along with many home and away matches that are in the lineup before the cup. It was said that Collingwood officials are very disappointed with the result and quickly left the AFL without giving the media any comments. It was said that the Pies were hopeful that their challenge may go through.
The jury, however ruled that Maxwell’s bump on McGinnity is negligent conduct and that Maxwell did have a ‘realistic alternative’ other than being rough on McGinnity resulting in a broken jaw and concussion for the West Coast’s player.
Collingwood presented its own medical report showing evidence that Maxwell’s head was in contact with McGinnity during the clash, but that wasn’t enough for the appeal to be withheld. This verdict is in line with the AFL’s warning two seasons ago that players have to be responsible for their actions even they choose to lay a bump and accidental head clashes will not save the players from suspensions or match bans.
