It would appear the problem of diving may not just be a soccer problem with a ‘simulation’ row erupting in Aussie Rules.
NORTH Melbourne Kangeroo’s star Brent Harvey has denied he goes down easily or ‘stages’ for freekicks after another incident in his sides latest match in the AFL.
The smallest man in the league has developed something of a reputation this season for going down too easlily and was in the spotlight again after a couple of clashes with Melbourne stopper Lynden Dunn.
Dunn twice appeared to strike the the deminative Kangeroo during the sides match on Sunday with Harvey theatrically going down on both occaisions. For his part the Dunn was cited for both incidents but only received a repremand for one of them.
Since then Melbourne have reportedly voiced their annoyance of Harvey’s overacting to the AFL umpiring department, but a club spokesman has refused to either confirm or deny that claim.
Well the Kangaroos face Brisbane this Saturday with the Lions odds-on to take the game. That could be good news for punters looking for value though With the North Melbourne outfit looking to make it four on the bouce while Brisbane have claimed just 2 wins in the last six games.
Melbourne on the the other hand face Essendon also on Saturday and despite representing no value the bet will have to be with Essendon. Melbourne are well adrift at the foot of the table with their opponents sitting safely in mid-table.
